One common activity for children in Japan is to release fish (trout, in this case) in a small pond and have the kids catch the fish with their hands. It is great fun for the kids. Then after cleaning the fish, you salt and cook them over an open flame. Great experience and hard to compare fresh fish taste.
This photo is taken from the Partheno Facebook feed. Hard to believe it has been one year, but they state that it went on sale one year ago Sept 1st. Sometimes it is hard to tell when an actual release occurs, because most products are rolled out region by region and sometimes nation-wide sales are considered to be the release. A few days ago I saw a Sapporo product on sale which is still weeks away from release according to the website. Apparently, I mistook a renewed sales push for a nation-wide release.

For the fall, Pronto is offering the illy branded expressamente double espresso latte. This drink has a topping with whipped cream, marron and cocoa powder. The photo here is from the Facebook feed, but if you look on the website (link below) it looks a bit different. The illy product sold in vending machines sells at a premium, but does taste better than the average canned coffee.

Morinaga makes on of the best selling pancake or hotcake mixes. This is a product and brand extension which actually tastes much better than I originally thought it would.
You might note the two dimensional or QR code near the bottom of the package. This is nothing new in Japan. Japanese cell phones have long been able to take photos of QR codes in order to be redirected to a website.

Starbucks is very skillful at renewing the whole feel of their stores with each new season, by just rotating a few new items onto the menu and offering a few new mug coffee mugs. Very beautiful.
