Morinaga 30 Years of Ototo Crackers‏

Following up on the previous post, Morinaga and Benesse are celebrating 30 years fo Ototo crackers by giving away takoyaki (breaded and fried octopus balls) makers, in a cute nod to the shape of the crackers and Benesse Nintendo DS games. Entry involves mailing in proof of purchase marks.

Morinaga Ototo Crackers

Morinaga Ototo crackers are an iconic Japanese confectionary brand and Japan's equivalent of animal crackers. As this image shows, this product consists of an easy to open and close box which contains crackers shaped like various sea creatures. Like all such products, they regularly introduce or rotate new flavors into the product line. One of my favorite flavors after first coming to Japan was squid ink flavor, which is black and commonly used on items such as spaghetti.

Bull-Dog Best Fair Stand Contest

In a contest related to the promotion mentioned yesterday, Bull-Dog is taking submissions for the best model food stand at a school fair. It does not specify that it has to be an okonomiyaki or takoyaki stand, but I would assume a stand that uses Bull-Dog sauce would make for a stronger entry.

Prizes start at 50,000 yen.
